How to add live streaming video content to your blog or Website. Ustream.tv, Stick.am, Justin.tv, Vidblaster, Boinx, and WireCast.

Wine industry examples of streaming video include Cellars of Sonoma and yes, Gary Vaynerchuk.

But, I’m not aware of a winery getting as much attention as the Shiba Inu puppies (npr story).  Around the same time as the Shiba Inu meme, qik.com made it possible to stream live video from an iPhone.  Now services like Ustream.tv have iPhone apps too.

There are a lot of free and paid ways to get live streaming video on your Website or blog.  The hard part is getting people to care about what you’re streaming.

I’ve found Leo Laporte’s The Tech Guy show to be helpful when it comes to streaming live content.  In a couple of his previous shows (1, 2) Leo talks about free Web-based video streaming options and paid software video streaming options.

The great thing about using these services is that you don’t have to go through all the hard work of editing your video.  For example, remember the first day of class when I used Ustream.tv?  I didn’t have to capture the video, edit the video, share the video, compress the video, and upload the video to tubemogul.  The video quality isn’t that great, but it’s video.
