What helped those of you who have installed WordPress?

I know this stuff can be frustrating, but once you get your WordPress website installed you won’t have to deal with your DNS or database much anymore.  You’ll be FTPing and using your Text Editor some more though.

Next class we’ll spend a little more time installing WordPress, but we have Chapters 1-3 of…

How to create subdomains

How to create subdomains

Now that you’ve activated these web analytics services and linked to them on your blog, you should be aware that there are lots of online resources that can help you learn how to  get the most out of these services.  These services have great help sections on their own sites and these services are blogged about frequently.

How a WordPress theme is designed

How a WordPress theme is designed

Before you install WordPress, pick a theme, and customize the theme, it is important that you understand the process of 1) designing a website Photoshop mockup, 2) converting the Photoshop mockup to html and css, and 3) converting the html to the WordPress php files. This is a very complicated process, but the better you understand it, the better you will be able to customize your theme to getting it looking and working the way you (or your boss/client) wants it.

If you have never…
